I’ve moved!

Hey everybody!

I’m proud to say Andre-Ward.net is up and running! No more running on free web hosting, that’s for sure.

Please visit, I’ll be waiting!

Power To The Writers

I feel proud to say I am a novice blogger. I am a future contributer to the world of blogging, if not already, and I love it. Don’t you? Blogging gives us the power to inform, entertain, and communicate. We can build huge networks of friends and contacts, do massive movements, we can form up cartels, provide feedbacks, create consience on certain topics, anything. The possibilities are endless.

But Andre, I’m just your averege ol’ person. Another one in the crowd!

Wrong! You’re never just another one in the crowd. Everybody has their own ideas, thoughts, and ways of thinking. Everyone can blog. Because everyone has their own story in life, their own experiences, their own trajectories. I like to think of writers as soldiers. We fight for what we believe is right. But what we believe is right is not always right. So its a war, an intellectual war. But this war has no death, no pain, no stress.  This war consists of people debating each other and learning from each other. We can gather ideas from other people, and produce wonderful content based on what they have to say. Also, if we believe a persons blog contains something you say: “Hm, I don’t agree with that.”. Then why not have a hearty debate? You post what you think is right in your blog, and you link back to the person. Of course, this should be done in a polite manner, don’t want to look for some free trouble, eh?

To end this entry, I will say that you, the reader, should start blogging now. Its a great experience, even if you think you don’t have time. I don’t care. Blog. If you don’t have time it probably means you have very busy life, so all the more reason to blog. Why? Because blogging relieves stress, and this is just what you need for your busy life. And if you’ve already started blogging, congratulations! You’re a soldier writing for the World. I wish you good luck, and have a nice blogging day.

Blogs Software: Then & Now

In response to Lorelle’s Challenge, I would like to take the time out to talk about my blogging software; then and now. But quite frankly, I can’t. Because Wordpress has been my first blogging software ever.

Before Wordpress, I had what we call a diary. I tried using it almost every morning, and every night. I used a diary because by that time I had no experience in web developing (I still don’t, but I’m getting there) so I was unable to do a proper website to exhibit my weblogs. But the diary presented many problems, which I will list:

  • My grammar is good (I believe), but my letter is ugly as heck. This didn’t motivate me at all.
  • I am visual, I like to emphasize, underline, etc. In other words I like to format my documents to make it look outstanding. With a diary, all I could do was bold the letter by cramming the pencil into the paper. And yes, maybe underline but my eye coordination is bad. So it ends up being a sad curvy line.
  • On the morning, I was usually grumpy. This did not motivate me. During the day, I was busy. During the night, I was sleepy. Can’t get your thoughts straight when you’re sleepy, eh?

So those were major factors in the case of not being able to do a proper log of my daily life, and also exporting them into the world.

So what’s the then and now? Simple. Technology came for the unsavvy regular ol’ teen. When I needed a resource to blog on the Internet, without having much knowledge on web developing, the Internet provided me with Wordpress and its plugins and themes.

So this is where I am now, using Wordpress to exhibit my thoughts to the world.

Twitter, Gravatar, Theme

Okay I’ve stopped trying to mess around with the theme. When I get more experience as a web developer I’ll continue my work on it, but in the meantime I’ll stick with the simple Copyblogger theme. I like this theme a lot actually. It loads fast, its organized, its clean and allows addition of content in the sidebar without screwing up.

On another note, I’ve created a Gravatar.

What is a Gravatar, Andre?

It is a Globally Recognized Avatar. Its basically a place where you upload an avatar and it sticks with you from weblog to weblog, forum to forum. Its simple yet useful. I recommend creating one.

Also, there is Twitter. Twitter is a website where you can see what your contacts are doing, and your contacts can see what you’re doing also. No, its not by a satellite spying system like some of my friends believe. Its based off of a system where you insert what you are doing, and other people read it. Yes, as simple as that. Is it not?

That’s the news for now. Until the next entry. Later.

Slow like the Snail…

Its 1:00am here and I’m pretty tired, but I thought about making an entry before I went to sleep.

So things are going slow, I still haven’t quite gotten the trick to customizing my Cutline theme yet.

What is the Cutline theme, you ask? Its supposed to be one of the most customizable themes for Wordpress. And I like customizing things, but this I’m not used to. Definately not the same customizing Wordpress than customizing your every day World of Warcraft character…

Anyways, besides that I was going to get my own hosting and domain-name that mother was going to purchase but guess what? Yes, the credit card is frozen. I have to wait until its available again so I can buy the whole thing.
Tomorrow I’m going to wake up early to see if I can do something about this theme. So I’ll be heading off to sleep.
Later.

So, let’s begin!

So I am in the testing stages, still. I’ve gotten the sandbox installed and I’m learning how to design off of it. I’ll install bbPress soon so we can have a nice place to chat here.

I’ve always loved blogging. It’s so much fun in my opinion and I believe its a great way to relieve stress. You know, take some time out to relax just writing whatever you feel, and also gathering knowledge so you can share with others.

But anyways, I’d like to thank anybody that bookmark’s my blog. It really means a lot to me.

See you on the next post.
